Jing grew up in the mountain area of China and received her Ph.D. in chemistry from Tulane University. After finishing her graduate school, she joined the group of Prof. Andrew B. Bocarsly at Princeton University, at where she studied solid state chemistry and semiconductors, as a postdoctoral researcher. She then moved on to the National Renewable Energy Lab, working for Dr. John Turner to expand her knowledge in renewable energy. She joined the faculty of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at SDSU in August of 2016. Jing’s research interests lie in the interdisciplinary fields of inorganic, physical, and material chemistry and in related engineering, in the study of solar fuel generation, photo-induced charge transfer and interface charge transfer processes.
